IT'S WHEELY WEDNESDAY - AUTUMN COMES TO ROCKY CREEK FARM

Here's our driveway
leading from the house to the main road.
If you stand in the road
close to the woods
you can see

Our Cousin's old silo

the field that Mom calls
"the Joe field"
because her uncle used
to have a house in this field.
Now it is pasture.


And our house,
granary and barn.
Autumn is coming fast to our farm

Mom designed this doll
for our friend, Vicki.
Vicki collects horns
and the doll's name is
Horatio Hornblower.
His story says that when you
think you hear the wind howling
through the trees on a
crisp Fall night,
it's really Horatio trying out his horns.
Every aspect of him,
except his basket itself,
was hand made and designed by Mom,
even the horns.

Our favorite part
is his little basket of horns.

Our favorite Autumn treat
rhymes with horn,
it's Candy Corn.
But we like it best
when it's mixed with peanuts.
(Mom says to be really good,
it must be Brach's Candy Corn
and Planter's Peanuts)
