This morning Java and Lillywere snoopervising Mom
during the fixing of the breakfast bacon.

It was coming along really well,getting nice and crispy,
just the way we like it.
And she had some pancakesfrying on the griddle.
But then she looked out the window
and saw this stoopid groundhog
right in front of our Polaris.
He was the sentry and we saw another one
run between the wheels of the Polaris
and back into the granary.
After that, all Mom wanted to do was
get a photo of him standing up.
It didn't take too well out
our dirty laundry room window.
And the bacon was only a little black
around the edges.
We still ate it
and licked our lips
and wanted more.
Wonder if we caught that groundhog,
if Mom would fry it up nice and brown?

Dad made bacon for us this morning, too. Mom goes out with a flashlight before she lets us out because of the skunk. This morning she saw two bunnies in the yard, but they ran away before we could chase them.

Let me get this straight... you had BACON for breakfast? And did you have some of those PANCAKES too??!!

no mention of the .22 sized hole in the screen from the last groundhog that stood in front of the granary?
I've got a ground hog stuffie (or maybe it's a prairie dog ... or maybe it's a beaver without a tail ... I'm not sure ... he has had lots of surgeries). Maybe I'll try to fry him up the way I've seen some of our friends making chicken soup or lobster bisque. I'll let ya know.
And as for the bacon ... it has been toooo long since we've had it. Yum! You've whetted our appetite for some, SOON!

Ohhh boy...we sure do hear our stomachs rumbling after looking at that bacon. Make sure you keep an eye on that little knucklehead outside.
