PREPARE YOURSELF

Do you remember
the 9 puppies
that were born at our house
on
February 9th?

Yesterday,
we overheard
our Mom and Becky's Ma
talking about a birthday pawty.

It won't be long
before they will be celebrating
their FIRST barkday -
and
Becky's Ma
is going to host a giveaway.

Keep your eyes and ears open
for upcoming details.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE?

Mom is always on the lookout
for toys that stimulate us
and that she doesn't have to
supervise all the time.

An adult Scottie
has a mouth
that is about the same size
as that of
an adult German Shepherd
so little chew toys
end up being chewed and swallowed.
That is what we wish to avoid.

Each of us have our favorite
forms of entertainment.

We, boys, like to play with a large tug rope.
Sometimes we play nicely together,
but then there are other times
that one of us will be guarding the rope
or playing keep-away.

Lilly is the most aloof dog
at our house -
she thinks she is too good
for toys or the floor.
You will find her either
sitting on someone's lap,
on a chair,
on Dad's briefcase
or

in a box.

Even though Nylabones
have gotten a bad rap lately,
we still have them.
Mom and Dad buy the largest one
they can find
and when it gets
whittled down to our mouth size,
it disappears.
The one in the picture
is about ready to go.
They don't want to take the chance
of one of us swallowing it.

We never get rawhide bones,
pigs ears or bully sticks.
We know we would love them,
but with the competition
going on between four dogs,
our Peeps are afraid
of us swallowing one
and having to go see our Vet.

Carrleigh's favorite toy
is the laser light.
She would chase it all day long
and is always encouraging Dad
to get it down for a rousing game of chase.

Carrleigh and Ruairi
love to chase the sunlight.
When Mom is cooking dinner,
the evening sun
comes in our kitchen windows
and glints off her knife -
that gets them into a rousing game
and sometimes gets them banned
from the kitchen - hehe!

But as diverse as we are
with our toys,
we all agree that there is one thing
we absolute detest.

We don't know why Mom insist
on vacuuming up our lovely hairs
off the floor and furniture,
but we all hate to see that
vacuum cleaner come out -
it even has bite marks on it.

What's your favorite toy -
maybe you can give us some pointers
on some tough stuff
that we won't destroy within minutes.

A STRANGE COMBINATION

This morning,
before we got out of bed,
Mom received the telephone call
that schools would
be on two hour delay today.

She thought it was because of the snow.

But when daybreak came,
she went outside,
thinking it was still snowing.

But in reality,
it is fog.

Snow is on the ground,

but thick fog is surrounding us.

Incredible!!

THERE'S A MIX-UP AT OUR HOUSE

As most of you have heard,
our oven gets very little use -
the occasional Pot Roast,
baked potato or loaf of bread.
And of course, our favorite -
The Friday Night Pizza.

And we have a beautiful
cobalt blue
6-quart
Kitchenaid Stand Mixer -
it usually just "stands" -
living up to its name -
we see it when Mom
pulls it out
to dust it off.

Well, something has
come over our Mom -
she has started baking cakes!
The first one she tried was
The Barefoot Contessa's
Coconut Cake.

We heard it get
"rave" reviews -
we didn't get to taste it -
except for a bit of coconut
that fell on the floor.

The second one she made was
The Mitchell Cake -
our Granny's famous recipe
for a walnut cake.

It too,
got "rave" reviews.

So, today,
she is making a
Lemonade Layer Cake -
she's even been zesting!

It's just now out of the oven -
cooling on the racks
before she ices it.

Guess what we heard Dad doing -
calling NordikTrac about ordering
a new tread mill.

Sounds like someone is going
to have to pay
for trying to learn
a new skill - hehehe!!

WE DO - DO YOU?

We are wondering
what special sound your breed makes.

Scottish Terriers
are know for their ability to
ARRROOO.

All of the Wheatens
in our family

are "champion" arroooers.

You should hear us
when we get started -
Mom says,
"it would raise the dead".

Sometimes you will even
hear new born puppies arrrooo.

But until this week,
Mom had never heard Lilly
arrrooo.

But she finally heard her-
it was the sweetest, most feminine
arrrooo
you could imagine.

So now we all have earned the name
that Dad gave us.

We are
"The ARRROOO Crew".

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi

PS - we want to apologize for our secretary -
you know how hard it is to get
good help these days.
We hope she will
do better as the year progresses.

JAZZI'S GIFT EXCHANGE

December was a cold month -
it found us at home a lot
just lying around.

One of the highlights
of the month was
Jazzi's Gift Exchange.

There were bandannas for our collars -
blue for boys,
red for girls.
Mom got us some special collars
to attach them to that match them.

How stylish we all look!!

But there was an aroma on the air
that made us all lick our lips
in anticipation.

Upon further inspection
we found the box
had a lot of gingerbread in it -
for both us and our peeps.

Mom loved dipping the gingerbread Scotties
in her coffee.

But we all loved the little
gingerbread hearts!
We wish you all had smell-a-computer
so you could just get a whiff
of these wonderful treats.

You know something is really good
when it gets all of our attention
at one time.

Thank you to
THE BOOKER MAN,
ASA
and
Your wonderful Mom, NOELLE.

You made our Christmas much brighter
with your gift!!

And thanks to Snazzi Jazzi
for sponsoring the gift exchange
again this year.
We are already anticipating
next year!

Happy New Year!!

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi
