WHEELY WEDNESDAY

Since we don't have an alter ego wheely,
we decided to take you on a short tour of part of our farm
on our "wheels".
Everyone get aboard the Rocky Creek Polaris.
Meet your driver for the tour - Dad.
If you can't get a seat in the back, then jump on the trailer.
All AAABBBOOAAARRDDD!!

First stop is the lilac bush.
We all need to pick a few so that
we'll be able to send them by Aire Ruby
to Myrna and Gilbert for their wedding.
Isn't their fragrance heavenly??

On your right side, you'll see our old barn
with Dad's "Flintstone" tractor sitting out in front.

That barn was built before our house which was built in 1898.
We don't know what year that old tractor was built,
but it will start when the others balk because of the cold, etc.

If you'll take a look at the cliffs on your left hand side,
you'll notice this lovely pink flower
is growing right out of the rock.
The leaves look like a cross between cilantro and carrot -
we have no idea what this delicate little flower is called.
Take a look down at the ground and
you'll see what Mom calls, "Rocky Creek Seahorses" -
they are really ferns that are just starting to grow.
Wild ferns are everywhere this year.

(If you biggify the picture, you can see the little seahorse on the right)
If you'll be careful, you can walk across this old tree
that has fallen in the forest.
Sometimes trees with moss growing on them are slick,
so be careful and dig your toes in.

This is our house from the north side.
Unless you go on a farm tour,
you never get to see this angle.
And now it's time to end the tour and
go in the house for dinner and get ready for bed.

Thanks for going along with us.

XOXO

Isn't VA. getting more and more beautiful everyday? I believe that little pink flower is Columbine.

We've never been on the east coast,so this little taste of Virginia has been delightful! What do you grow on your farm, or is it a dairy farm? God bless the farmers!

ps-Our Mommy has passed through VA in her past.

Grrrr.. We'd tapped out a long comment with our paws, and when we left to go biggify a picture, we lost it. It never comes out the same the second time.

What we want you to know, is... we were HOPING you'd take us on a tour of your farm someday. Now we feel like we can visit it (and we will!) whenever we want, with the pictures. Thanks!

We also were thinking we know some wires - not us, we're really not hunters - maybe we should be embarrassed to admit that - that would LOVE to hunt for little critters in the cliff rocks.

What a grrreat place to live! Do you get to run loose sometimes? And then sleep in one of those amazing rooms? Wow!

What an awesome tour! The lilacs smelled so pretty and your farmhouse is just lovely! Mom says the little flower growing out of the rock is a dicentra (bleeding heart)! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dicentra

Ciao dolci amici!

What a wonderful tour that was -- I certainly enjoyed your version of Wheely Wednesday!

Our lilacs are just starting to peek out, and the azalea bushes are in full bloom. It's a beautiful time of year except for one thing. All day long, la mia ragazza says, "Ah-choo!" Yes, I'm afraid it's Owl R. Jeeze. (I may have to give her some of my vitamins ... maybe that cat's claw will do the trick...!)

Tanti baci!
