OUR EASTER LILLY BLOOMED A FEW DAYS EARLY!!

Since our
little Scottie furiend,
Snazzi Jazzi
is sponsoring a
bunny ear contest
on her blog,

we thought we'd let
our own
Easter Lilly
try on her ears
to see if they fit!!
She's hoping
Uncle Ed
has a soft spot
in his heart
for little Scottie girls.

CAN YOU HEAR THE QUIETNESS?

It is incredibly quiet
and white
at our house this morning.

When we woke up
and looked out our windows,
we couldn't believe our eyes!!

Snow has come again to
Rocky Creek Farm!!

Even though we love the snow,
it concerns us
because just last week
we saw a bluebird
flitting in and out of this house.

And our lillys are starting to come up.

Mom says they will all be OK,
because a Spring snow
is healthy for the ground.
We hope so.

Pig's Ears

From what we hear from some of you,
pig's ears are a delicacy -
and they are something we
never get to enjoy.

(FYI -This is not Lilly chowing down
on a pig's ear -
we got this picture off of Google.)

It has been brought to our attention
by
Scottish Terrier and Dog News
that there has been a salmonella outbreak
and
some pig's ears
have been recalled.
Please have your peeps
check out this website
if you enjoy the occasional pig's ear.
We would hate for
any of our furiends to get sick.

CAN YOU BELIEVE OUR DAD BROUGHT HOME A CLAN OF NEW PETS?

It was a luncheon,
business meeting
and
a grooming session -
let us tell you,
Ruairi is a real "suck-up"
and all of the ladies
fell in love with his handsome self.

But when we got home,
we noticed this
"shoe-box"
sitting in front of our coffee pot.

Dad told us
that he had some new pets.
These new pets outnumber
the Scotties in our house now -
unless you count all of the mini-me's around.

When we looked in the box,
we thought,
"who does Dad think he is kidding-
that's just a bunch of scraps
and some torn up newspaper."

It seems that while we were away
eating, chatting and stripping,
Dad went to a meeting
of his own
and one of the demonstrations
was about raising "red wigglers".
According to the lady giving the demonstration,
they are the perfect pets
and like the same things humans like.

Not only are they in our kitchen,
he says that soon he'll be making
tea from their poops.

We don't think we'll be
drinking any of that tea - BOL!!

ARE YOU MIGHTY DOGS?

Last week when Dad brought
in the mail,
he handed this box to Mom.

We thought Mom had ordered a hamster -
you never know what she finds on Ebay.
It even smelled a bit
like cedar chips!!

Upon further investigation,
we found out that it was for us -
a Mighty Dog Nation Citizenship Kit.

There was a nice welcome letter with an official card
and an coupon for Mighty Dog food.

It included a KONG
with some special treaties in the box,
a sticker for our window
and

a cool
Mighty Dog Tag
for a collar -
we haven't decided yet
who will get it.

We are MIGHTY!!
and you can be too -
just have your peeps
follow this link
to make you MIGHTY DOGS.

And there is even a little booklet
that tells how to train you peeps!

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi

PS - and if you can,
please go over to
The Animal Rescue Website
and
vote for
The Last Resort
in
West Milford, NJ.

Just click on the third tab
going down the side
and it will take you to
The Shelter Challenge.

It ends next week
and they are in second place.
They need our help!!

TRYING TO TEACH "OLD" DOGS SOME NEW TRICKS

During Spring cleaning,
Mom found a bag of treats
that someone had given us
for Christmas.

Since we didn't want them to spoil,
we thought she should do
a bit of training with them.

We have a
bench/coffee table
in our living room
that we are fond of lying on
(that's why it's covered!).

Mom decided she would like to
get a picture of all of us
lined up and sitting on it.

So she gives the command -
"up on the bench"
along with a hand-signal.

Carrleigh
will do anything for food
so she jumped up first
and even sat!

But before Ruairi
could hop up,
Carrleigh jumped down.

And then Piper and Ruairi
did a little
"I'll jump up while you jump down-
that'll have Mom going around in circles" routine.

Carrleigh and Piper
would get up there together
but they were trying to decide
if they should leap off
and grab the treat out of Mom's hand.

Lilly,
the polite child,
was the hardest one to get up there.
Mom had to lift her up
and sit her on the bench -
maybe by Christmas 2012,
she'll get us all up there together
and lined up real pretty!!

Now Mom has a new goal.

XOXO

YOU WERE THERE!!

When we first started blogging,
you were there to support us.

You were there
when we sponsored our first contest -
"Stick Out Your Tongue"
and you have sponsored various contest
that we have entered
and
sometimes we have won.

You were there to support us
as we did various "daily" post -
such as
True Colors Thursday,
Wordless Wednesday,
Wheelie Wednesday.......

You were there when we discovered
that our Mom couldn't count
and there were nine puppies
instead of seven.

You were there to empathize with us
when those sweet puppies
gave us piles of laundry.

You were there to sympathize with us
when we had to help out dear brother, Java
go to the Rainbow Bridge.

And you've been there to pawty with us
any time we sent out the invitation.

But most of all,
you've been there to love us
and encourage us
as we all make this journey of life together.

Today is our
2nd Blogiversary
and we celebrate you!!

OOPS!!! OUR MOM MADE A MISTAKE

Our silly Mom
always said she couldn't
"chew gum and walk at the same time".

Well today she did it!!

She made a mistake and posted our post
on her blog.

And with the rain and our satellite thingy,
Blogger is none too kind today
so if you want to see
what WE really had to say,

STAY DRY!!

PUPDATE ON SCARLET

When we did our annual
"pupdate" on Carrleigh's
last litter of puppies,
we didn't get a picture
of Scarlet.
Her Mom was having
camera difficulties.

But we have them now!!

Here she is just hours
after she was born -
our Mom had nicknamed her
"Little Copper-Top"
after her handsome grandfather.

But here she is now -
one year later

All grown up and beautiful
and she has a boyfriend -
Sir Knighted Rob Roy.

We're anxious to see what happens next.

HAVE YOU EVER.......

...heard a cow snore?

Last night when Mom and Lilly
went out for the final check
around the yard,
they heard a strange noise
that spooked them
so they "high-tailed" it
back into the house
to get Dad.

Upon further inspection
and an insult to a dreaming bovine,
Dad discovered that the noise
that scared Mom and Lilly
was none other
than a snoring cow.

Mom said she had been around cattle
all of her life,
and this is the first time
she ever heard one snore!!

Sweet Dreams,

Even though we love our feline friends,
we can't let Jazzi get beat out
by a C-A-T,
can we?

Please,
VOTE FOR JAZZI -
maybe she'll share a doughnut with you
after it's all over.
