ONCE UPON A TIME...........

....there was a
Handsome Red King.

An evil witch
cast a spell on him,
turning him into a
ferocious dinosaur.

All he could contemplate
was getting a kiss
from the Princess
of the kingdom -
such a kiss would break the
spell of the evil witch.

The dinosaur was tasked to guard the moat
around the kingdom
of the beautiful Princess Carrleigh.

But Princess Carrleigh
only had eyes

for the devilishly handsome
Prince Piper.
Prince Piper could not cross
the moat because it was
protected by the fierce dinosaur.

So The Great Red Prince Piper
called upon the
magical powers of
Lady Lillybug.

Lady Lillybug
thought and thought
about how she could solve the problem.

And then she knew.....

She turned the Handsome Red King Ruairi
into a bumble bee
and it intrigued him so much
that all he could do was
look at himself in the mirror.

We hope he doesn't get squashed
before he is able to
be kissed by a princess
and become
The Handsome Red King Ruairi
once more.

Happy Howl-O-Ween

IT'S ROAD TRIP TIME

Guess what?
They've made the cookies.

They're packing the car.

Heading out for adventures unknown.

They'll dress up in a costume
whether it's Halloween or not.

So if you see 2 pirates
traveling along
somewhere between
Mission Viejo
and
Virginia,
be sure and wave to them,
because our Sissy's coming to visit.

And we can hardly wait.

THE PUPPIES OF HALLOWEEN

As the time draws nearer,
we are starting to see
some of our puppies
preparing for Halloween.

Here's sweet Murhpy Rushlow
alongside his Halloween pumpkin.

Bailey Sweet
trying to avoid the camera.

I'm not looking.

Oh, well, if I have to -
where are the treats?

Bailey,
posing with his big brother,
Mackie.
We don't think they were too thrilled
with the pumpkin hats.

Many of you have already
seen Miss Becky Blue Bonnet

Along with her brother,
Gussie the Fisherman
who threatened to turn her into
Lobster Thermidor.

Lilly and Piper's son, Obie
is king of hearts in his household.
Here he is at a Halloween pawty,
along with his queen, Ebony.

And here they are with their Dad.
Obie is the handsome brindle boy
out in front.
And his sweet Queen Ebony
is the one with the pink leash.

Our Mom better get with it -
we don't have our costumes ready yet.

THANK YOU JAZZI FOR OUR AWARD

We know we are slow acknowledging this,
but our furiend,
Snazzi Jazzi
awarded us with a prestigious award
a few weeks ago.

And we want to thank her warmly!!

And as with any award,
there are a few rules -

1. Thank the ones who gave it to you
and link to them.

2. Name 10 things about yourself -
try to be as creative as possible.

3. Then award this to 15 other dog bloggers.
It doesn't matter if they are old or new,
all furiends deserve this award.

4. Comment on the receivers blog
to let them know about the love.

5. And the most important -
Have Fun!!

So here goes
*
*
*
*
*

1. We are all spectacular travelers -
and get really excited when
we see Mom get out our
traveling leashes and harnesses.

2. We hate having our toenails trimmed.

3. Our favorite
"tug of war" toy
is the insoles of Mom's house-shoes -
if they are not on her feet,
she has to protect them otherwise.

4. Carrleigh loves puppies
and is a great aunt and mother.
Here she is with one of Lilly's puppies.

5. Piper absolutely hates
the vacuum cleaner
and will attack it.
Sometimes he pulls off
parts of it and
Mom has to do minor repairs.

6. We are all real foodies
(we learned that from Maggie and Mitch)
and pizza is our favorite food.
We do a Scottie stand to let Mom
know how much we are interested.

7. Lilly and Piper
like to sit
on our crates
and watch over the pen.

8. When we are in the pen,
Ruairi empties out our water bowl
and rolls the bowl around.

9. We love to stay in hotels.

10. Mom is always striving
to get the perfect photo.

We think you all deserve this award
if you are reading our blog -
please take it.

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi

ALL IT TAKES TO GIVE MOM SOME IDEAS.....

Last week,
our dog-nanny, Miss Donna,
called and asked Mom
if her family could do a photo-shoot
on Rocky Creek Farm.

Of course, Mom said yes.
And Dad said yes when they
wanted to include us in it.

Their girls love running with us
in our yard,
but Mom never gets to see it,
so they thought it would be great
to get a picture of it for posterity.

But it didn't work out too well,
so we just ended up hanging around.

We sat on the steps with Dad
and watched as they
did their photo-shoot.

They even brought their own Labradude -
T R O U B L E -
but he didn't want to cooperate,
so he spent a lot of time
tied to our tractor
or talking to his Dad.

And once it was all over,
we got to spend some time
with our Dad too!!

But this morning,
we heard Mom tell Dad
that she wants a new camera
for their Anniversary,
her Birthday
and
Christmas.
We hope that doesn't mean
she's getting 3 new cameras -
after all she only has 2 hands.
And we're afraid of the ideas
that she got
after watching what
a professional photographer does.

EXCITEMENT AT ROCKY CREEK FARM

We got all excited today
because our cousin, Cabella,
came to visit us.

But she got all excited
because her human Daddy
killed a deer -
we'll spare you the pictures.

Isn't she beautiful?
Seeing her
makes us miss
our angel Java Bean
so-so-so much.

Our Mom just rubbed
'Bella's ole snooter
and dreamed of seeing
another Chocolate Lab
on Rocky Creek Farm -
maybe someday....

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi

PS - 'Bella needs to hurry up
and have a few puppies.

WHAT A FANTASTIC WEEKEND

First,
we got in a little snuggle time with Dad.

Then,
Mom and Dad
went to pick apples.
Can you believe that this
apple tree is over a century old-
and it probably has at least
5 bushels of apples on it -
and are they ever yummy!!

Mom and Dad
filled all of the buckets
they took with them.

This is a random shot of our house
and farm buildings -
you can see Mom's little studio roof
in the background.

After picking apples,
they went out to check the cattle's
water troughs -
and Dad took a few pictures.

The cattle got up
real close and personal
when they realized that Mom and Dad
had a bushel of apples
to give to them.

And then Mom and Dad
took them on a tromp
through the field.

We found this spider
spun in a web
near our cellar door.

And Mom wore her treat belt
so we were ever conscious
that a "Scottie stand"
will get us a treat.

Too soon the time was over.
Ruairi was all excited because
he got to go to the
Community Picnic
at our church.
Guess what?
Mom forgot the camera -
silly woman!!

XOXO
