We just wanted to stop in this morning
and say "hi" to everyone.
We are busy, busy, busy,
30+ people are coming
to our house
for dinner tonight.
And tomorrow is our

We'll see you on

GOOD NEWS FROM NY BULLY BRATS

After reading Martine's post this morning, I immediately jumped to conclusions and assumed something bad had happened to Sugar. We are thrilled to hear that a wonderful decision was made on her behalf. Our hats are off to Martine and Seth for making this unselfish decision.

Here is the post I received from NY Bully Brats. "Guys - i don't want to step on any toes - but Sugar has just gone back the BT Rescue and is in great hands - she is perfectly safe - Martine and Seth made the incredible hard decision to give Sugar up because her issues were too much for them to deal with."

We are so happy that she is safe. And wish all the best to Martine and Seth.

IT'S WHEELY WEDNESDAY

Good Morning,

And welcome to WHEELY WEDNESDAY. It just occurred to us this morning that we don't know who the host is for WHEELY WED
NESDAY or if there is one. Any way if you wish to play along, don't be shy. Just show us your wheels.

Last week got an email from Sue (Maggie and Mit
ch's Mom) that there was a wheely Scottie for sale on Ebay. Mom bid and owned it for almost a week, but the little fellow went to someone else's house at the last minute. We hope they let him blog.

So here we are on our Polaris. A lot is going on at Rocky Creek Farm - the new fences are in the process of being finished and we think they will be finished by today. We are so happy. The fence people are very nice, but we have to bark at them a lot and Mom doesn't like that. We'll have pictures when they are finished.

The best part about the fences is that Dad had our whole yard fenced in for us. Now we will have about an acre to play in off leash!! We are so excited for all of that to be finished.

We have been staying in the house a lot this week while Mom and Dad work on our porch. It was getting dangerous to walk on because of some rotten boards. Even though we plan on tearing the house down in the future, we still have to be safe while we are living here.

Dad had to shore up the house and repair the boards under the columns. While he was doing this, Mom was busy painting the new flooring.

And before they could get the flooring down, that beautful blue sky opened up and we got a downpour. That stopped all of their outside work for the night - they hope to get back at it today, but there is a lot of rain in the forecast.

Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY,
XOXO,

HONESTY

Mom took Khyra's Mom's challenge to list 10 things about herself. You might want to ask your Mom to do it too.

1. I am an only child.

2. I have wanted to raise dogs and breed puppies
all of my life.

3. I have lived in the United States, The Philippine Islands and Okinawa.

4. While living in the Philippines and Okinawa, I was an interpreter for the deaf in grade schools. Since I rarely sign now, I have forgotten most of it.

5. I have been quilting since I was 7 years old and soo
n that will mean I have quilted for 50 years.

6. I am a lifelong student - always wanting to learn to do one more thing.

7. I am a horrible housekeeper, but love to entertain.

8. Making bread is one of my most relaxing hobbies.

9. I can kill any houseplant given to me (usually in less than a week)

10. I love my life and the people in it. I am living out my childhood dreams by being able to live on Rocky Creek Farm with the love of my life. I just wish our children lived closer to us so they could visit more often.

Have a wonderful day,
Lynn

OH! THE PLACES YOU WILL GO AND THE DOGS YOU WILL MEET

Congratulations!
Today is your day,
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

This is Mom
and her first dog, Misty
on the porch of the house
where we live now.
Mom feels like she has come full circle
and is living out her childhood dreams.

Carrleigh traveled to our house
from Kentucky.
Mom and Dad drove out to get her
and brought her back the next day.
It was about 500 miles from our home.

Piper traveled to our house
from Northwestern Ohio.
Mom and Dad took Lilly
up to get him.
He too had a day long drive to get to his forever home.
Java traveled the longest distance
to get to Rocky Creek Farm.
Mom and Dad had him when they
lived in California.
He traveled 2500 miles to make it
to his home
on
Rocky Creek Farm.

Mom and Dad
traveled to Kentucky to get Lilly too.
She is a wonderful traveler
and likes to stay in hotels.

Our sister, Kat,
loves to travel.
Mom is always trying to get her to write a book
about the travels of her and her friend, Erin.
They usually come to visit us, every year
during the last week of July.
This year they can't come
and we miss them.
This is a Christmas pict
ure
of Kat and Lilly on Lilly's first Christmas.

We wish you all
"happpy trails and waggin' tails"
There's no place like home.

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Java

CONTEST and PACKAGES and BEARS!! OH, MY!!

Good Morning,

We woke up to a wonderful surprise this past Saturday morning. During our morning session of blog-reading, we found out that we had the honor of winning a prize in Maggie and Mitch's 600th post contest. Way to go!! What a wonderful milestone - we hope to reach it ourselves someday.

It wasn't long before we heard the mailman at our door. When we looked outside we saw a big box on our freezer. And the return address said it wa
s from Maggie and Mitch in Connecticut. Since Mitch choose our number, he got to pick our prizes. And we got one of his signature blue pigs, his favorite apple treats and a fabulous tug of war toy. (We were still asleep this morning when Mom took the pictures of our pressies. )

On the same day, our "stick out your tongue" contest ended
with Duhgall being the first prize winner.

And Bailey coming in second.
(It looks like he thinks Herod might be a delicous snack)
Our Mom is slow
(but she is older than dirt too)
in getting out their packages.
They will go in today's mail.

And on the home front.

Our nearest neighbor,
who lives a mile away,
took this picture
at the end of our drive-way.
They put out their game cam.
The first night they baited with table scraps,
and got raccoons.
The second night they baited with bread and syrup
and got raccoons.
The third night they baited with pizza
and got a bear!!
We are afraid Mom and Dad
might cut off our pizza rations
because they want to see a bear too!!
XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Java

PS - note from Mom: I thought I should clarify things a bit. We don't really want a bear to live on our property but I just would love to see one in the wild one time. It seems as if we are the only ones in our community that haven't seen a bear.

IT'S TRUE COLOURS THURSDAY - EMERALD

Good Morning and welcome to True Colours Thursday. The colour for today is EMERALD. If you'd like to play along, go over to Blue's blog and let her know you are in - it's that easy!
Of course, one of Mom's favorite EMERALD items
would be in the form of this small
Scottie Dog salt cellar.
We have often watched the movie,
the Wizard of Oz
and rooted for Dorothy and Toto
(a Cairn Terrier cousin)
To make it to the
EMERALD City
It is rumored that L. Frank Baum
gave his wife
an EMERALD ring
after completion of his OZ books
because she was the one person
who never lost faith in him.
We are pleased to announce that the 70th Anniversary of the making of the movie, The Wizard of Oz, will be commemorated this year with a special DVD set which will include The Dreamer of Oz, the story of the life of L. Frank Baum, starring John Ritter. Yes, Mom, we know it's on your list.

Have a Terrific Thursday,
XOXO

IT's WHEELY WEDNESDAY

Good Morning,

And welcome to Wheely Wednesday. It seems like so much has
been going on to keep us busy for the past week that we didn't take too many photos. And today there is a huge post driver right outside of our bedroom window driving post for our new fence. We are just a little "crazy" over the clunk, clunk, clunk sound it makes. Sometimes it even makes us ARRROOO!! Anyway, just jump aboard our trusty Polaris and we'll show you a few things that have happened this week.
Dad filled our pool with water.
Who will be brave enough to want the floating treats?

And here HE is!
Our brave Piper
and his adoring fan club.
He just loves to get in the pool
and walk around.
Carrleigh will get in for a few seconds,
but Lilly made her debut -
walked across it and got out -
never to go back in again!

Mom tried to buy a calf
from Dad's business partner.
He laughed at her choice and
gave her the calf
because in his opinion
it was a poor choice.
This is it's 3rd baby!!
And the first calf to be born
on
Rocky Creek Farm
that is
Charlais and Black Angus mixed.
It is a beautiful litte gray bull calf.

When Mom got home from choir practice,
the Momma cow brought her baby
to the house for Mom to see.
As soon as Dad checked it out,
she took it back over the hill
toward the backside of the farm.

This picture is telling Mom's age.
She says we are
"Double the fun"

Have a wonderful Wheely Wednesday.
XOXO

does she think we'll believe it?

JAVA CELEBRATES THE BIG 1-2 and Your Dog's Real Age

Now that the excitement from our
Stick Out Your Tongue Contest
is dying down,
we want to take a few minutes
to share Java's Birthday with you.

In true southern fashion,
the girls, Lilly and Carrleigh,
helped Mom in the kitchen
while we guys hung out
in the living room with Dad.
The aroma of
Organic Rocky Creek hamburgers
filled our house.
Our mouths were watering
and we could hardly wait to taste them.
Notice there are cheese on only
two of them.
The kitchen help scarfed down their cheese
before it made it's way to the hamburgers.
After having the burgers,
we were treated to this little cake.
Isn't it a cutie?
Don't get too excited -
it's only a little cake
made from 2 cupcakes.
And Mom bought it -
she might be a bread baker,
but her dessert making skills........
Well, we won't discuss that.
Mom and Dad decided that the easiest way
to keep buttercream frosting
from covering our floors
was to serve the cake outside in the grass.
Carrleigh immediately gobbled hers
and then tried to get everyone's cake,
but Mom and Dad
restrained her.
It was soooo good.

It seems strange, but just last week Mom got an email titled, "How old is your dog, really?" She decided to take the test for Java. All of this time we had been referring to a dog chart that says that Java's 12th birthday would put him at 94 years old. According to this test, Java is more like 53 years old. And yesterday, after that sugary cake, he was running like a pup!! If you want to take the test, go to http://www.dogage.com/reg/regassess.aspx?cbr=RA86_RA

Good News!!! Our cousin, Bea, is expecting puppies this week. We can hardly wait. She is such a good mother and is so generous about letting others play with the puppies. She is a Chocolate Lab and usually has at least 12 puppies in her litter. We'll be posting pictures as soon as we can.

XOXO

OUR 100th POST - "STICK OUT YOUR TONGUE" AND JAVA'S 12TH BIRTHDAY

We have finally reached our 100th post,
but more important than that,
today is Java's 12th birthday
so first we must wish him
HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Party pictures will come tomorrow.

We were overwhelmed at the popularity
of our contest.

We met so many nice animals and owners
through this.
There were 127 entries.

We hope we haven't accidentally excluded anyone.
Our Mom has worked a countless
number of hours preparing these pictures.
The will come to you in four p
ost
so you have to scroll down to the 4th one
to see who won the contest.
Pictures are listed in
no certain order.

If you click on a picture
it should (we hope) take you to that
dog or cat's website.
For the most part,
sibling dogs are shown together
but their names were put
in the hat separately.
