A few weeks ago,
our parents were visiting with
some friends who have a young puppy.
The puppy had an accident
on their light colored carpet
one day when they were gone.
She told Mom she cleaned it up
and then dusted it with baby powder
and then vacuumed.
She did this every day until
there was no evidence of any stain.

Just pure old talcum powder,
not the kind with any oils or additives
(we just got the house brand at
a local store).
So Mom has been trying it on our 40 year old carpet
and it does seem to be lightening 39 year old stains
and if it doesn't lighten them
at least the house smells baby fresh.
And it's a lot less expensive than
products made to freshen your carpet.
A little bit of baby powder goes a long way.
BOL!!

Wow! That's really surprising. We're gonna give it a try. And it's nice that it's not those harsh, nasty chemicals.

Hi Pups!
Mother is a great fan of Johnsons Baby Powder - not sure why, as I never leave stains!
Anyway, have given you an Award, do call in to collect.

Wooos! Thanks for the tip, although we do not have much carpet, the rugs that we have always are where we run to in case of a hairball or something.....
-Kira The BeaWootiful and still snowless!
I'll have to give that a try! thanks

Thanks for the advice. Smelling good can't be bad, especially with wet dogs running in and out all day.
Yes Lynn I do use baby powder!! Dont have to too often, but when someone throws up it gets cleaned up and then we use baby powder. It does a wonderful job!!

Hi there,
Given my recently developed preference for using the 'indoor bathroom' I think that my human, Gail, will be very interested in this piece of advice!
Cheers, H.

PeeEssWoo: Mom says that is what she weighed when the stork dropped her on her head!
We use a little baking soda to absorb the odor Scotties leave in carpet. It absorbs the oil their hair leaves and cuts the musk.
That is a good idea. I wonder if it works on slobbers stains.

Mango
Sure sounds like a good idea. We will try it if mom makes a mess

She says she's gonna pick some up at the store this week and try it on one of Puffy's art works!
Thanks for the tip!
Bonnie
Will try it!!!
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

I think Mama can probably use this..Bilbo has darkened lots of our carpet!

OK. Here's where we left off. (We are madly trying to catch up. In order!)
GREAT idea! Moma'll get some talcum powder (spots? did you say spots???) to put on the areas where she has already pretty effectively used hydrogen peroxide.
And now we'll say ... we thought maybe there was gonna be ANOTHER use for this baby powder. But it appears we have to keep reading!
Love!!!!

What a good tip! We have tile floors so don't worry about this...but it's a good piece of info to have.
Blessings, Cassie
