DAD CAUGHT A DRAIN SNAKE

This afternoon,
we were all at home,
just minding our own business.
That's quite a feat for a Scottie
because Mom says we are
the nosiest dogs on the
planet.
Dad came to the front door
and told Mom to come out and see
what he had.
Excuse us but we have to give you a bit
of history to explain this story.
You might remember
(if you've been following our blog
for a few months.)
that one day Dad sent Mom
out to buy some goldfish

to clean out the algae in our
cattle's watering trough.

Sad to say,
those cute little fishes
became raccoon snacks.
Well the cattle troughs got stopped up
and Dad decided to find out what
the problem was.
That's when he found this 3 1/2 foot long
"snake" in the drain.

When he came home and held it up
to show Mom,
she thought it was a tremendously long hairball.

Upon further investigation of the disgusting looking thing,
we (really Dad) discovered that it was grass roots
that had grown up the intake for the water
for the troughs.

Once Dad "killed" the snake,
the trough filled with cool, clear water again.

Have a Terrific Tuesday.
XOXO,
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Java

The great thing about reading blogs is that you learn something new and unexpected every day.I now know about 'drain' snakes. Thank you.

Ummm... ok, that was unusual. I totally get the goldfish thing though, Mom had some trouble with a 'coon and fish heads strewn about the patio last summer. Scampi liked rolling on them though, he thought that was fun!

Ewwww! Moma is so jumpy around snakes, you had her believing that was a decomposed one. We had no idea that grass was that smart! (Did ya get to shake it? Did ya???)

We learn something every day!

SO glad that turned out to be grass roots, not nearly as bad as a giant hairball - it's still pretty creepy, though! Not that it would have stopped me from trying to eat it (to my mom's predictable horror!)....

We are soooooo glad it wasn't a real snake! Our mom freaks out over ANY size snake! She says they are ALL deadly because even if they aren't poisonous, they can make her hurt herself trying to get away from them. We're glad your dad "killed" it!

YEAH for the daddy!!!!! Glad he fixed the cow's water trough!!! If it's been as hot there as it has been here, those cows need that cool water.

Well, what on earth were you doing "minding your own business" in the first place?? Call yourself Scotties? Letting the side down is what I'd call it!
