APPLE PIE TASTERS - A GREAT JOB

Every year when the Ruritans make fried apple pies to sell, Mom goes down the day before and cooks the apples and makes the dough. Then the volunteers come in the next day to make the pies. They have it worked out so that different people do different jobs.

These are the pie rollers.
Mom has made the dough in small biscuits
so the rollers roll them out to fit a saucer.

Then the pies go to the fillers and crimpers.
They fill and close the pies and cut off any excess dough.

This is Russell.
He takes the pies from the fillers and crimpers
and delivers them to the fryers.

This is our friend, Steve.
It is is first year to help.
He's doing a great job.

Mom made bread this morning
so they could have a snack.
She served it hot from the oven,
with butter and homemade apple butter.

And here are the taste testers.
What a wonderful job!
