A NEW DAY - A NEW TRICK

The first thing every morning,
we put the puppies in their basket
in the middle of the bed.

This morning they were more active than usual
so we really kept a close eye on them.

Dad had been telling us
that we needed to take the pillow
out of their basket
and as usual,
Dad is right.

Fergus was the first one
to take the plunge.
After that then everyone
decided that it might be fun
so we had to hurry and
get them back in the puppy box.

Now we are wondering
which one will be the first
to learn to escape it.

A DAY IN THE LIFE....

It all starts out when
they get their meal
(other than the ones Carrleigh gives them)
every day.

They get their faces and paws washed
after they eat and drink a sip of their water.

Next they are moved to the basket,
where they start hamming it up
for the camera!

We are seriously afraid that some
Lacie, ahem, Lakie
has been teaching our children
some bad tricks -
we even noticed a tiny purple blender
in the corner of their box -
it's a good thing they are too short
to get to the electrical outlets!

And after that,
they start to get more serious
(and sleepy)

The Boys,

And then they jump back in their
fresh, clean bed
with the baby powder between the sheets
and stretch out for a snooze.

And we all help Mom with the laundry....

...and about 4 hours later,
we start the cycle again,
except for the puppy gruel -
they only get it one time a day now.

IT'S A THREE,,,,WELL MAYBE....AN EIGHT PUP NIGHT

It was a bit on the chilly side this morning
and one time when Mom went to check
the Sweet Babes,
this is the scene she found.

All eight of them lined up across
the whelping box -
if they get too many ounces bigger,
they won't be able to do this!!

Aunt Lilly got to visit with them
for the first time this morning.

They all loved her
and

Aunt Lilly loves them!

The Sweet Babes
are growing so fast,
we think this looks like
they are in a huddle
to plot against us.

And now a little video for you.

ROCKY CREEK BABIES

Here are part of the calves
that have been born this year -
they have a little "clique" -
it's amazing to watch how their
society functions.

In the afternoon,
we saw Mom get out a harness
and we all got really excited -
it means someone is going somewhere
and we all wanted to go.

But Baby Ruairi
was the lucky one -
he got to go to Grannys,
to the gas station,
to Tractor Supply
and then to Lowes.

He even rode in the cart
like a little gentleman,
never barking at anyone or anything
and he let people come by and pet him.

But we know
these are the babies
you really came to see -
and everyone has open eyes now!

ROCKY CREEK SCOTTIES SALUTE OUR FRIENDS OVER AT MILK-BONE

If you've been reading our blog
for a while,
you might remember that
Milk-Bones
are one of our favorite treats.

Our peeps buy the large box for us
in the large breed size.

We get the large breed size
because the inside of the mouth
of an adult Scottish Terrier
is about the same size
as the inside of the mouth
of an adult German Shepherd.

Just hearing Mom
open the container
that holds our Milk-Bones
will get a Scottie stand.

When our puppies get about 4 weeks old
and need to start gnawing on something,
Milk-Bones are the first thing they get.
We give them the large breed Milk-Bone
because we know they can gnaw on them
and if anything breaks off,
it's not something that will harm them.

And our Sweet Babes
will get the same great start
as soon as they are ready.

Not only that,
Milk-Bone has new, small training treats
that are less than 5 calories per treat -
and the nice folks
over at Milk-Bone
sent us some so we could use them
to give our puppies
a healthy start in life.

You can bet
Mom will be getting a lot of
Scottie stands
when she brings out a bag of these.

And remember,
every time your Peeps
buy you a box of Milk-Bones,
a portion of the proceeds
goes to help
The Canine Assistants Organization.
