TRUE COLOURS THURSDAY - WE'RE TAKING BLUE'S CHALLENGE AND TODAY'S COLOUR IS LEMON

As a special challenge, Blue asked for our interpretation of a child's poem "The Colours" by Christina Rossetti. We decided we were "up to the challenge". If you'd like to play along, just go over to her blog and let her know you are in. Today's color is lemon (one of our Mom's favorite fruits), but we opted to go with the challenge first.

"What is pink? a rose is pink
By a fountain's brink.(courtesy of Vincent Van Gogh)

What is red? a poppy's red
In its barley bed. "

"What is blue? the sky is blue
Where the clouds float thro'.

(courtesy of Pablo Picasso)

What is white? a swan is white
Sailing in the light.

What is yellow? pears are yellow,
Rich and
ripe and mellow.

What is green? the grass is green,
With small flowers between.

What is violet? clouds are violet
In the summer twilight.

(Mr. Vincent Van Gogh again.
He's our favorite)

What is orange? Why, an orange,
Just an ora
nge!"

Have a Terrific Thurdsay,
XOXO

PS - and here's our LEMON for the day - the most obvious color of lemon and the most delicious drink ever created (according to our Mom) is lemonade. She makes her homemade lemonade in this old store candy jar and takes it when we are invited to picnics, reunion, etc. She ices it down and puts the jar in an enamel bucket full of ice to keep it cold. It is always the first drink to get empty because everyone loves it. She should probably make some for us to have today instead of faking it by putting her lemons in the jar - what do you think?
