We've been doing a lot of this
since the weather has been so snowy and cold.
So Mom hasn't been taking to many pictures
since we all need a good grooming.
Our grooming table is outside.

Piper is not his usual debonair self.

Lilly needs "the works".

Poor Carrleigh
needs a good comb and bath.

Java is the only one
who still looks halfway decent.

Hopefully it will warm up this week
and we can all get groomed.

XOXO

PUTTIN' ON THE DOG

If most of your peeps are like our Mom,
(who by the way is terribly spoiled - BOL!!)
when it comes time to pick a gift for her,
one can never go wrong with a Scottie ite
m.
(we know your peeps probably don't want Scottie
items, but would prefer Airedale, Sibe, Fox Terrier,
Golden, Mastiff, Lab items, etc, etc,
but you get the picture)

And this Christmas was no different.
(Some of the pictures are professional photos
downloaded from websites
)
And as she's making these photos,
she's sure she's left out one or two -
at least a pair of socks that

are in the washer right now.

Our sweet sissy, Kat,
found this vintage brush holder
in an antique shop in California.
She said as soon as she saw it,
she knew what Mom

was getting for Christmas.
The only worry she had was that
Mom might get another dog
before Christmas!

Mom almost always wears a piece of Scottie jewelry
and she doesn't care if it's a Christmas pin-
she'll wear it in July if it matches her outfit.
This cutie was in Mom's stocking.

And our sweet furiends,
Fergie and Jake
and their peeps,
Sally and Nina

sent us these beautiful neckwarmers
and we sure have put them to good use
with the freezing temperatures
we've been having.

But tucked in the envelope
was this precious Scottie ornament.

Of course Mom claimed it right away!

Our Dad is really sneaky
when it comes to wrapping presents.
Mom had a bag of Ghiradelli chocolates
in her stocking.
Mom always says it's OK to eat chocolate
before breakfast on Christmas morning.
When she opened the bag
to snag a piece of chocolate,
she found this bracelet.
Later in a gift she found the Scottie charm.

Granny gave her this Scottie bag.

And her cousin
surprised her with these
sweet Scottie Pajamas

Santa left this J P Ourse
Scottie change purse
in her stocking.

And Dad sent her on a scavenger hunt
to find this
Dooney and Bourke Lucy bag.
Only Mom's had the Scottie tag
which Dad had to bargain with
the store manager
so she would change
the bone tag on Mom's purse
for a Scottie tag on another purse.
Evidently D & B had changed tags
in the middle of their production
and Dad knew that Mom would
have to have the Scottie tag.

It's a toss-up as to who is spoiled the most -
Mom, Lilly or Kat.

Today we pass the award to:

Fern at Animal Lover, Quilt Lover -
we always love seeing her flowers,

animals and quilts
and pictures from her past.

Tammy at Footheel Sockknitter -
we miss seeing her as much
as we did before,
but her computer is suffering
an incurable illness.
She spins and knits the most wonderful soc
ks.

Holly at Your Mothers Knows, But Won't Tell You.
She is quite the wordsmith
and Mom is forever checking
to see if she's got a new post.
And she is owned by
2 beautiful Scotties.

Cassie at In Amazing Graceland.
Her pictures always give us a laugh,
especially when she includes BRD and Hootie.
She is an inspiration for all
because she loves Jesus.

Laurie at Magpie Ethel.
She is such a wonderful designer
and has a collection

for every holiday
and then some.

And now for the mystery.

Early on the morning of December 23rd,
Mom received a telephone call
from Eric, our local Fedex delivery person.
He said he had some packages for her

but was afraid he couldn't make it
down our driveway and back out.
Mom couldn't think of anything
she was expecting,

but told him to leave them at the mailbox
and she'd be right up to get them.

When she got there,

there were 2 large boxes.
One was completely full of
doggie treats.

And the other one was full of
doggie cleaning supplies.

There is even one for cat odors!!

And we have no idea who sent them.
There is a packing slip
but no name we could identify.

We'd love to thank the person who
sent them to us.
If you are the one or know who it is,
please let us know.

We miss our Sissy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR PIPER

For Christmas 2007,
Mom found out that
she would be getting a
Scottie puppy.

2 days after Christmas,
she received an email

that the puppies had been born.

The puppy on the left is Piper.

He grew fast
and became a sturdy little guy.
Here he is at about 4 weeks old.

Before long,
Mom and Dad and Lilly
went to Ohio to get him
and he moved to Rocky Creek Farm.

And he was quite the rascal.

Always finding something to get into.
And soon he learned
that some things were better left alone.

He started maturing
into a beautiful dog.

And by his first birthday,
he was a father.

And now he is a
beautiful self assured young man.
And we love him.

Happy Birthday Dear Piper.

XOXO
Lilly, Carrleigh, Java,
Mom and Dad

PS - we are sorry that we haven't been commenting on your blogs.
We have been reading quickly when we get a minute.
Things will get back to normal soon.

OUR SISSY'S SCARY CHRISTMAS PRESENT

Christmas morning,
we woke up
to the sound of
sleigh bells ringing.
Our sissy had taken over
our Mom's job of ringing the bells.

Carrleigh got a cute Santa dress,
but it was too small for her
and Piper had to model it.
Doesn't he look adorable?

Kat's favorite present
were the wristlet arm warmers
that our Mom made for her.
If you look close you can see the
Scottie buttons on them.

And then we heard the strains of
"its a small world after all"

We watched it
and checked it out
from every angle.

And then our Sissy
made it play the music again -
something Mom calls an
"ear worm"

About 2 notes
before the song ended,
out jumps this monkey!
She only had to play
the music a couple of times
before we knew exactly when
the monkey would jump out.
And we hid.

Hope your sissy didn't get
a scary Christmas present.

XOXO
