IT'S WHEELY WEDNESDAY

Good Morning,

And welcome to Wheely Wednesday. Today we want to share a few internet websites that Mom has wheeled by and thought you might find interesting.
But first we'll tell you about a movie
that we all absolutely loved!!

The name of it is Coraline
and it is the brainchild
of one of our favorites, Tim Burton.
Below are a couple of pictures
that Dad snapped while we were
enjoying our popcorn
and watching the flick.
Mom and Dad rented it from Netflix,
but liked it so much that they
went out the next day
and bought it for us.
It stars SCOTTIES!!!
Check out this Scottie angel
who is in the ending credits.

And these Scotties
running in a wheel like hamsters.

And now on to a phenomenon
that we have heard about
but don't want to try.
Check out the dogomatic-
a carwash for dogs.
We can't imagine who would
come up with
a torture chamber like this.
Just put in your money,
select your cycle
and then wash your unsuspecting canine.
ADDENDUM - after a couple of comments we thought we should add this. If you check out our Italian friends and The Roving Van Gelders (who live in the good ole USA), you will see evidence that this is quite a possibility - of course we haven't seen one and don't want to!! We'll be on the lookout during out next trip to a Pet--.

There are no pictures but when looking for an e-card to send our sissy, Kat, for her birthday, Mom found this cool sight. It's called Sloppy Kisses and you can customize y
our card with different animals - dogs, cats, horses, birds, etc. There is a Scottie that looks just like Lilly. And you get a 30 day free trial period.

Today is our commander-in-chief
Tank's
247th post.
Please go by and wish him well.
There is a party going on over at his blog
(and prizes!)

DAD CAUGHT A DRAIN SNAKE

This afternoon,
we were all at home,
just minding our own business.
That's quite a feat for a Scottie
because Mom says we are
the nosiest dogs on the
planet.
Dad came to the front door
and told Mom to come out and see
what he had.
Excuse us but we have to give you a bit
of history to explain this story.
You might remember
(if you've been following our blog
for a few months.)
that one day Dad sent Mom
out to buy some goldfish

to clean out the algae in our
cattle's watering trough.

Sad to say,
those cute little fishes
became raccoon snacks.
Well the cattle troughs got stopped up
and Dad decided to find out what
the problem was.
That's when he found this 3 1/2 foot long
"snake" in the drain.

When he came home and held it up
to show Mom,
she thought it was a tremendously long hairball.

Upon further investigation of the disgusting looking thing,
we (really Dad) discovered that it was grass roots
that had grown up the intake for the water
for the troughs.

Once Dad "killed" the snake,
the trough filled with cool, clear water again.

Have a Terrific Tuesday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR SISSY, KAT

Today, we have to shout out
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to our Sissy, Kat.
She is 26 years old today.
She's a fun loving girl
who enjoys a fried Twinkie
at the Orange County Fair.

Riding her motorcycle in the dessert.

As a volunteer on the Pilgrim,
a tall ship in Dana Point Harbor,
she climbs the mast to furl the sails.
(that makes our Mom's knees get weak!)

She does an occasional model shoot

But most of all
she loves us
We miss her and wish we could be with her today.
We'll have to see if Mom
will fix us some cake and icecream anyway.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAT - we love you!

XOXO

SCOTTIES IN OUR MAILBOX AND A VISIT

When Mom and Dad returned
from their vacation and
we returned from the "spa",
Mom went to the post office
to pick up the mail
they had held for us.
Mom was surprised that

there was a huge bin of it.
Upon digging in the bin,
the first thing she came upon
was a package with a
Royal Mail Stamp and Customs Form on it.
It was from our sweet cat friend,
Ginger Jasper and his sweet Mom, Carol.
We wish we could upload a video
so you could see this Scottie
dance and hear him sing.
Mom has to hold him when we let him sing,
because we want to investigate his insides.
And they also sent us a sweet note
and some yummy treats.
Notice how the treats are numbered-
88- that means 22 a piece
and don't tell Mom but we're counting
so that she divides them evenly!

Further down in the bin,
she found an envelope
from our sweet sissy, Kat.
It held a cute pair of Scottie socks
And a beautiful necklace
that she had designed
just for Mom.
And this is what made the box so heavy -
64 back issues of Great Scots magazine.
Mom will have enough reading
to keep her busy for a long time.
And now for our visitor.
(we thought Mango might like to see him)
Bear came over to visit
in the back of his Dad's truck.
We only got to see him through
the window because Mom was afraid
we might attack him.
He is such a sweetie
and loves it when Mom
brings him bikkies.
Have a wonderful evening,
XOXO

PS - the lovely Miss Fergi's 'love of her life', Farfel has started blogging. Please go by and give him a great DWB welcome. He's quite a "looker". (no wonder she is ga-ga over him)

NIAGARA FALLS

While waiting to cross the border,
Mom tried to get a picture
of the Canadian flag
as it played in the breeze.

After a short wait at the border,
Mom and Dad made it through
and went to their hotel.
They had a room on the 29th floor
overlooking the falls.

They rode the
Falls Incline Railway
back and forth
from their hotel
to the Niagara Falls.

This is the Niagara Falls Visitor Center
with the spray of the falls in the background.

And Mom doing a little shopping.

And they watched and photographed the falls.
They both found them fascinating.

Of course, no visit to Niagara Falls
would be complete without
a ride on
The Maid of the Mist.

Where Mom got completely drenched.
She wanted to get the full effect of the falls
so she didn't wear her hood during the ride.

IT'S TRUE COLOURS THURSDAY - CHOCOLATE

Good Morning,

And welcome to True Colours Thursday. Our host is Blue and our colour for this week is CHOCOLATE. Next weeks colour is PALE PINK. If you'd like to play, just go over to Blue's Blog and let her know you are in, it's that easy.

Since we all know that chocolate
can be toxic to dogs,
we let Mom do all of the tasting of it -
she likes it that way and we stay safe.
One of Mom's favorite chocolates is made
in one of her favorite cities.

But this is our favorite chocolate
sitting between Mom and Dad.
They were all a few years younger
when this picture was snapped.

Our cousin, Bea, a chocolate lab,
has 9 little puppies now,
1 chocolate, 1 black and 7 yellow labs.
This is a puppy from her last litter in 2007.

Mom is always saying she would love
a litte box of chocolates,
but we think she'd like a wagon full too.

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and their own personal chocolate, Java
