WE'RE HAVING A GIVEAWAY!!

Mom was asked by the kind folks at
Milkbone
to read a book,
Through a Dog's Eyes
by
Jennifer
Arnold.

Arnold, founder and executive director of Canine Assistants,
a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing service dogs
for people with disabilities, educates and inspires i
n this transformative guide to training and celebrating service animals.
Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at age 16,
Arnold was encouraged by her father
to start an organization devoted to helping people with physical disabilities.
Now after 20 years of dog training,
she shares her methodology and stories of canine intelligence,
sensitivity, language comprehension,
and prescience bordering on telepathy.
She offers shining examples of the heroism of service dogs,
from anticipating seizures to resetting a ventilator switch.
Along the way, she emphasizes choice-based,
positive-reinforcement-only teaching methods
and shares valuable insights that every dog owner should know.
Engagingly written with a perfect balance of science and observation,
this book--soon to be a PBS one hour special and series--
is a worthy tribute to our canine friends.

If you would like to win a copy of this book,
please leave a comment.
The drawing will be next Friday
and we will let our last departing puppy,
Todd,
make the choice
of the winner.

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh, Ruairi, Ivy
and
The Five Remaining Babes

PS - we apologize for the lack of blogging-
we have no excuse,
but we have a secretary problem.

We just finished a similar book called 'A Dog Named Slugger'. It was worth reading. Service dogs are amazing.

Todd will be going home at the perfect time. Their beautiful Hamlet crossed the bridge this morning. They need a little puppy silliness in their lives right now.

My peeps last Scot, Half Pence, was a Pet Companion. He went every where with her. He could tell when her blood chemistry was off and would put his head across her lap. Lee knew not to drive then. It was really tough loosing him. I think they kept each other well. Me I am a good guy, but I don't have that ability. I know she really still misses Half Pence.
