This morning,
we want to share a story
with you
about what happened
on the day
our Java went to the Rainbow Bridge.
The pictures on today's post
are from some of the memorials
that were sent to us
by friends and family.
The day before Mom, Dad and our Vet
had to help Java on his way,
we had torrential rains.
Our neighbor had come that morning
with his backhoe to dig Java's grave
which had about 2 feet of water
standing in it when they got home from the Vet.
Mom got a bucket and she and Lilly
watched as Dad dipped over a hundred
gallons of water from the grave.

Our sweet Vet had placed Java
in a blue canvas bag with an angel
at his head.
Dad gently laid him in the grave,
on his bed,
and started to cover him with the dirt.
As he started to cover him,
Dad told Mom she should take Lilly
and go to the house.
Mom knew that Dad needed
some time alone with Java.

After Dad had been out there about 20 minutes,
our doorbell rang and it was Dad -
he was all muddy and didn't want to
come in the house.

he was all muddy and didn't want to
come in the house.
He said to Mom,
"The strangest thing just happened.
As I was covering Java,
I looked toward our house
and saw two Black Labs coming
up our road.
One of the Labs kept going,
and the other one came up to be petted."

HI
Thats strange but yet true. I have heard about angels appearing to people helping out in situations and then they disappear!! God send his angels to help, comfort and assist us. Cool how God works huh??
We all miss JAva and yes, we will all see him again.

Lynn, you wrote from you heart. I know that Java is smiling his big dog smile down on you today. He is waiting there for you...but without pain - only with a very happy wag to his tail. God brings us blessings and signs to let us know that those we love are ok. I truely believe this.
What lovely treasures you have received in honor of sweet Mr. Java.
we all love you,
Becky, Duhgall and Fiona
I'm glad you were able to share that story.

Oh dear, now Beth is crying! I asked her to read it too because it was such a great post....and now! TEARS!....Beth here....that was the nicest blog about your dear Java. A person has to really wonder sometimes about the little things that happen in our life that we seem to miss -- I am glad your husband was there to pet the lab that came by....I am certain there was a reason for it....God has ways to let us know things are okay....
What a beautiful, touching and amazing story! I know how very special and personal this story is to you--Thank-you for sharing it and sharing your beloved and precious Java with all of us!
What a wonderful story. No doubt those labradogs helped your dad to let go of Java in his heart. The memorials to him are really nice too.
