WHAT A FANTASTIC WEEKEND

First,
we got in a little snuggle time with Dad.

Then,
Mom and Dad
went to pick apples.
Can you believe that this
apple tree is over a century old-
and it probably has at least
5 bushels of apples on it -
and are they ever yummy!!

Mom and Dad
filled all of the buckets
they took with them.

This is a random shot of our house
and farm buildings -
you can see Mom's little studio roof
in the background.

After picking apples,
they went out to check the cattle's
water troughs -
and Dad took a few pictures.

The cattle got up
real close and personal
when they realized that Mom and Dad
had a bushel of apples
to give to them.

And then Mom and Dad
took them on a tromp
through the field.

We found this spider
spun in a web
near our cellar door.

And Mom wore her treat belt
so we were ever conscious
that a "Scottie stand"
will get us a treat.

Too soon the time was over.
Ruairi was all excited because
he got to go to the
Community Picnic
at our church.
Guess what?
Mom forgot the camera -
silly woman!!

XOXO

You have a great farm - it must be nice to have those apples growing right in your own back yard. Bet the cows loved them.

It looks like you are getting some nice weather too.

Wow, that is really cool about your 100 year old apple tree. Hope you didn't give all the apples to cow #49!

Awww. These photos made us feel a little bit homesick. And when OurGirl learns that you picked all those apples from the century tree, she's gonna be jelly. She really wanted an apple ... maybe we'll send her one and tell her it's from your tree.

Such a wonderful place. Such beautiful pictures. Such a great family ... our friends.
