No, they didn't get to stay in this cabin,
only photograph it.
But we understand that it can be rented.

The gazebo where the "dance"
took place -
there is no water in the lake now,
so it's not quite as picturesque
as it was when the movie was made.

They walked down from the hotel entrance
to the barn where the famous

And the chicken dance....
Mom was so happy that Dad
pointed out one of our table mates
that would probably comply -
that kept her back in the audience and watching.
While Mom and Dad
didn't have
"the time of their life",
it is safe to say that they
really enjoyed it.
And we guarded the homestead.

A beautiful adventure. A fun time. And a WONDERFUL post. For what more can we ask? Well. How was the Homestead when they returned? And did they bring consolation treats? Maybe a spare chicken?
What a great weekend for them. And, presumedly, you adorable Scotties. After all, it's October in the Blue Ridge Mountains!
