SUMMERTIME ACROSS THE BLUE RIDGE

Many mornings
Mom goes to pick fresh blueberries
before we get out of bed
and we wake to the smell
of blueberry pancakes and coffee.

Deer watch us
as we go about our days

Ole Tom Turkey
struts around our yard
watching over his hens and chicks

Mom's fingers are stained
from the sweet warm juice
of heirloom black raspberries.

Black raspberries wait
to be made into goodies for us.

We have home-made preserves

to spread on
hot Lemon Raspberry Muffins

The sound of hay being mowed
and baled coupled with the sweet smell of it
is music to our ears as we go about the day.

Lemonade and ice water
are the official drinks of summer
at Rocky Creek Farm.

We think it is safe to say
that Summertime is here
across the Blue Ridge Mountains
and we are enjoying every minute of it
to the fullest.

If you travel close to us,
please stop by for a visit.

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ivy

You lucky dogs. We woke up to RAIN and it's supposed to last a few days. So NO Saturday river run.....no walk.

Hope there was some pancake left overs for you.

Hey Lynn!! I have noticed that the berries that we have been picking the last couple of weeks have been different, but now with your post I realize that we've been picking black raspberries too--That explains why some of them seems to lose their 'cores' when we pick them. Everything, especially your muffins and jam look just delicious!!

I hope you're doing well, take care!!!

Oh I am so hungry now. Lee really misses her grandmother's farm when she looks at your pictures.
