CRATE AWARENESS TRAINING

As is our custom,
we try to introduce
new items to
The Sweet Buglets
when we think
they are mature enough
to handle them.

Yesterday,
we put a small crate
   in their puppy box.

As soon as it was in there,
they all rushed up to lick it.

Is this a huge chew toy?

 Finlay and MacAdoo
were brave
and stuck their heads in

 Finlay went right inside

 and laid down.

 Then MacAdoo
went in with him.

 Next went Celti.

 Penny and Gavin
decided it might be more fun
just to stay outside
and chew on it.

 Celti thought chewing
was a good idea too.

Then we put a new toy
in with them
so they wouldn't chew
up the crate.

 Before long,
all of the boys
were attacking the new toy
and the girls were in the crate
playing house.

This morning when we got up,
we could barely see any puppies.
Then we were greeted
by a sleepy Penny
coming out of the crate.

 Next came Gavin
and Celti.

Then Lilly jumped in the box
and they all came out!!

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Ivy
and
The Sweet Buglets

  2. That was the cutest photos and what an experience for them but they were right in their like dirty shirts...love it they are such smart buglets.....well done....

Nessie likes her house (crate)...she goes in there to rest sometimes she has several towels on the floor of it and she MAKES her bed because she likes a PILLOW for her head LOL....Uses her nose and paws it into what she wants then just curls up into it....

When it is introduced in the right way it can be a place of safety and comfort it is their home...

  4. That is a great thing to do. Mom says if Lightning doesn't start behaving at night, he is going to be crated again. On the other Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara all love to take. Nap in their crates.

  6. I love this post! It's so neat to see the buglets experience something new! I love when the girls went in to play house and the boys played with the toy outside. All of these pictures are wonderful. I think my favorite is the one of sleepy Penny coming out of the crate. I have no idea how all five of them fit in that crate to sleep! That's impressive! :)

  7. That is so cute that after only one day they slept in their crate. The boys playing with toys outside and the girls playing house inside - priceless!

  8. How on earth did the buglets all fit in to that wee crate? It must have been very cosy in there.
    Toodle pip!
Bertie (thinking fondly of the days when he would chew everything in sight...)

  13. It's like a big slumber party in that crate, isn't it? :-)

Todd still loves his crate, and stays in it during the day, but hasn't slept in it much at night--He loves the foot of our bed instead! :-)
