YES, VIRGINIA, THERE WAS AN EARTHQUAKE

Many of you have asked us
if we felt the earth shake
beneath our paws yesterday.

Virginia had a 5.9 earthquake
in Giles county.
If you look at the pink circle on the map
you will see our county, Carroll,
is at the bottom
of the circle.

We did feel a bit of shaking,
but Mom,
having lived in
the Philippine Islands,
Japan
and
Southern California,
just said,
"we're having an earthquake"
and went on about her business.

We were just as snug as puppies
in a box.

Ivy went to the Vet for her checkup.
She is still growing like a bad weed -
and weighs 35 pounds now!!

  1. Shake, rattle, rock and roll - we have never felt an earthquake and we think we are happy about that. Glad it was no big deal for you.

  3. I came over to see how you were!! So glad it was no big deal for you!! We feel the earth shake every once in a while too but it is a very small shake. It has been a very hot summer!!! Very hard on me with a new puppy and the garden!!!
I will be so glad when it is cooler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Thought of you all yesterday when the earth was moving - you are a lot closer than we are, and we felt it!! Glad all is well there. Duncan & Hamish were outside and it really scared them - they were at the door lickety-split!! That was a first for all of us - and that's enough!!
