We are three gorgeous (and loved) Scottish Terriers who share our lives with our people and our "Heinz 57" on a farm in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Please join us in our day to day experiences.
Our Mom says "Life is so much merrier with a Scottish Terrier".
The 1st Birthday give-a-way has started. For a chance to be in the drawing for some super cool prizes, go over to The Strawberry Mallard and visit Becky Bluebonnet and G-dog. If you make a comment, you're entered.
Mom is always on the lookout for toys that stimulate us and that she doesn't have to supervise all the time.
An adult Scottie has a mouth that is about the same size as that of an adult German Shepherd so little chew toys end up being chewed and swallowed. That is what we wish to avoid.
Each of us have our favorite forms of entertainment.
We, boys, like to play with a large tug rope. Sometimes we play nicely together, but then there are other times that one of us will be guarding the rope or playing keep-away.
Lilly is the most aloof dog at our house - she thinks she is too good for toys or the floor. You will find her either sitting on someone's lap, on a chair, on Dad's briefcase or
in a box.
Even though Nylabones have gotten a bad rap lately, we still have them. Mom and Dad buy the largest one they can find and when it gets whittled down to our mouth size, it disappears. The one in the picture is about ready to go. They don't want to take the chance of one of us swallowing it.
We never get rawhide bones, pigs ears or bully sticks. We know we would love them, but with the competition going on between four dogs, our Peeps are afraid of us swallowing one and having to go see our Vet.
Carrleigh's favorite toy is the laser light. She would chase it all day long and is always encouraging Dad to get it down for a rousing game of chase.
Carrleigh and Ruairi love to chase the sunlight. When Mom is cooking dinner, the evening sun comes in our kitchen windows and glints off her knife - that gets them into a rousing game and sometimes gets them banned from the kitchen - hehe!
But as diverse as we are with our toys, we all agree that there is one thing we absolute detest.
We don't know why Mom insist on vacuuming up our lovely hairs off the floor and furniture, but we all hate to see that vacuum cleaner come out - it even has bite marks on it.
What's your favorite toy - maybe you can give us some pointers on some tough stuff that we won't destroy within minutes.
As most of you have heard, our oven gets very little use - the occasional Pot Roast, baked potato or loaf of bread. And of course, our favorite - The Friday Night Pizza.
And we have a beautiful cobalt blue 6-quart Kitchenaid Stand Mixer - it usually just "stands" - living up to its name - we see it when Mom pulls it out to dust it off.
