GETTING SPOILED AND MAKING PEACH ICE CREAM

As you know,
our sissy, Kat,
is visiting with us for two weeks.
She is the best spoiler -
takes us on walkies,
lets us on the bed,
feeds us delicious foodables.
We could go on and on,
but we want to show you
what happened last night.

Mom had bought a bunch of peaches
at the Farmer's Market -
our peach tree dropped all of it's peaches
before they got ripe -
disappointed us greatly.
Anyway, we want to share our recipe with you
for
FRESH PEACH ICE CREAM.
It is fantastic - and best of all - no raw eggs!

6 cups of chopped peaches (Mom always uses more)
1 package of Peach Jello
(if you want it extra peachy, use two)
1/2 cup sugar
1 package instant vanilla pudding
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
1 quart half and half

Mix the chopped peaches with the dry peach jello
and the sugar and let sit in your fridge for at
least an hour - ours sat all day.

When you are ready to make the ice cream,
puree 4 cups of the peach mixture
(the rest of the peaches stay in their chopped form).

Mix the evaporated milk with the pudding mix.

And then mix everything together
before pouring it in your ice cream maker.

Since it makes so much,
Mom only pours about 2 cups of the
half and half to start with -
then adjust it after pouring
everything in the ice cream maker -
her philosophy is
"more peaches, less cream".

And then you mix it according to
your ice cream maker instructions.

If you have any questions,
just email Mom.

It helps to have at least
two people with strong arms
or an electric ice cream maker.

And when it is done - enjoy!!

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi

(peach pictures snagged from the internet
and not our actual photos,
but they could be -
Mom has both of those bowls!)

  18. That ice cream looks delicious. We don't have an ice cream maker either.

We're happy you are going to be so spoiled when your sister gets home. But, isn't being called Kat a bit demeaning? Scottie would be better in our opinion.

  21. We remember that porch! Oh how we wish we were there to lick up some peach ice cream with you. Please tell Kat to have an extra bowl, just for us!

And, hey! We've got an ice cream maker just like that one we see. Maybe we can talk Moma into following that recipe and making some once the Colorado peaches come in at the end of the month.

  25. Sniff. You just reminded me of my grandfather, who I adored. Peach was the only flavor he ever had on hand. I think he had it every evening. He would buy it in the square pints, and cut off a square right through the box for servings. Always predictable. Enjoy your peach ice cream!

  29. Just so you know. When Moma can't fit into her clothes anymore, we're laying the blame partly on you. Every time she walks by those (yummy ... so she says ... she won't share with us) pee cans, she grabs a handful. We wonder what WE would look like if we ate as many treats as she seems to be eating.
