THE NEW COMES IN AS THE OLD GOES OUT

This is one of the last times
that the little sharp toothed puppies
will be able to nurse from Carrleigh.
By the end of the week,
they should be totally weaned.

They start to explore
their "new" surroundings.
While they are still in the same puppy box,
a crate has been added
so that they can get used to it
and they have been moved from our bedroom
into our living-room.

XOXO

  1. I bet Carrleigh will be glad when the nursing is finished - doesn't look like a particularly comfortable event for her. Those babes are sooo cute, though - love the videos :o)

  3. A much needed moment of cuteness on a Tuesday!! The girls here at my office (and me too!) can't believe how much they've grown--Like the weeds in my yard! :-))

  6. I did the same. At four weeks I moved them to a pen in the kitchen and set a crate inside it. hey loved to go into the crate to sleep and it was an easy transition later on.

Samba continued to nurse a couple times a day till they were six weeks old and let Noah nurse till he was eight weeks. He was our little peanut and she gave him some special attention.

  7. Poor Carrleigh - she is so good to her babies. Great idea to get them used to the idea of a crate. Bet their furever homes will be happy to know you are doing that.

  8. How many puppies can fit into one small crate? Is there a Guiness record for that?

  13. That's a lot of puppies underneath Carrleigh while she's standing. She's so careful not to step on any of them. What a great mom she is!

    Love ya lots,

  16. Poor Carrleigh! But she's still being the best mother isn't she? The puppies look so cute in their box with their own crate.

  17. I bet the little ones will be upset when they can no longer nurse. But poor Carrleigh must have a lot of puncture holes on her from those needle sharp piranha toofies.

  18. That makes me glad I didn't birth litters. LOL I can't get over how fast they become their own little selves. They certainly are growing those adorable Scottie features now.

  21. Carrleigh will be very relieved I am sure. It looks a tad uncomfortable for her to be having those little piggies hanging off.
