PSA - APRIL IS HEARTWORM AWARENESS MONTH

We know that most of you
are like us
and get monthly heart-worm preventative
like Heartgard
or
Interceptor.

Once, heart-worms were thought
to live mainly in the
southern states
but now they are nation-wide.

If heart-worms infect a
dog or cat,
there is a big chance
that it might die.

Please check out the
American Heartworm Society's website
for more information
on how to stop this deadly parasite.
Caesar Milan
also has a lot of information on canine parasites.

Heart-worms can be prevented -
please tell your Peeps today.

XOXO

  2. Yep, we are all Interceptor pups and we have all had our heartworm tests. We actually take the pills year round just to be safe. Great PSA.

  4. The tenth day of each month is our heartworm day. Then Mm gives us our Heartgard or Interceptor. She alternates them. We love them both and sit very nicely as she hands them out.

  5. We take ours on the tenth of each month, too. (Like the Porties) The vet always wants us to have the yearly, but SHE likes us to have the monthly tablets that get rid of worms as well, because Kendra and Bella are always finding disgusting things for snacks.

  6. Perfect timing! On Tuesday Fergi is going for her annual exam, and I'm going just for my heartworm check. We'll both start taking our Heartguard soon! (Right now the snow is falling! Those mosquitoes are still at bay.)

  7. Good reminder!! During the cold months of December thru February I take the dogs off of HW preventative, but put them back on by the start of March because it doesn't take much warmth for them to come out, does it?
