CAN YOU HEAR THE QUIETNESS?

It is incredibly quiet
and white
at our house this morning.

When we woke up
and looked out our windows,
we couldn't believe our eyes!!

Snow has come again to
Rocky Creek Farm!!

Even though we love the snow,
it concerns us
because just last week
we saw a bluebird
flitting in and out of this house.

And our lillys are starting to come up.

Mom says they will all be OK,
because a Spring snow
is healthy for the ground.
We hope so.

XOXO

  2. We've probably had more damage done down here from the heavy rain and winds than you have with the snow! Know we need the rain but does it have to come all at once?!

  5. Wow, you're still getting snow!? Well, we've had our fair share of winter storms around here too. We wonder what kind of summer this means for us... Hmmmm.

  7. Hi Rocky Creek Scotties,
We always worry about the birds when it is time to make nests and lay eggs. Then the poor birds sit on the eggs so long!!
Here it went straight to summer for us. We have had 80 to 90 degrees most days.
Slept without a blanket last night. Today we have rain and littler cooler tempts 73 today!!

PS come and see us OK?

  10. Ahh yes, we had some snow too - Mom calls it the farmer's free fertilizer. But it is all gone now, and we have more mud - Ciara is quite happy about that, the Momster not so much.

    Have a great week.

  12. SHE says that's the one thing SHE loved about snow......waking to that quiet and muffled sound. (Then going downstairs and hearing that there was no school!)

    Thanks again for the parcel!

That Groundhog made a wrong call this year, didn't he.

  13. That's sort of what it looked like our OUR window this morning, but we celebrated! It's all gone now ... and we're hoping for more.

Hey! Can you believe that Moma very carefully preserved a Rocky Creek apple for the muffins we had this weekend. Oh our Dogness! They were out of this world. Moma is gonna send you the recipe. Paws down, it was the BEST muffin recipe we've ever tasted (made even more special by your PERFECT apple!)

    Much love

  14. Oh no! I am so tired of snow, I know for sure I don't want to see any more of it here. I hope yours is just a little extra water for the ground and gone in no time!

  17. You hoped for snow and you got some...how lucky:) Just think of it as natures way of helping you water the plants:) Our bird houses are out but not busy yet...wonder if it has anything to do with me chasing them all over!

  18. We think it's summer here in Phoenix! It's already gotten up to 92degrees and is supposed to again by this weekend. Sheesh. We're getting ready to go north in less than 2 weeks and our neighbor said there is still snow up there. Woopee!! We can join you all in enjoying the last of the wonderful white stuff!!!!
