FIELDS OF DIAMONDS

What a privilege
to freely walk
in the solitude of snow.

To see the ground covered with diamonds,
to think your own thoughts,
and to know all is well in your life.

To see a bird take wing
and marvel how its tiny body
can withstand
the chills of winter.

How reassuring to know
that when you return to your house
the wonderful aroma of fresh brewed coffee
will meet your nostrils
and you can wrap your hands
around the mug
and feel its warmth.

All is right
in our little corner
of the world
and we love our life.

XOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Java

We love how the snow makes it so much quieter outside too. And you are right, knowing there is a warm cozy house to go back to makes being out in the cold even better!!

  20. Such a peaceful post! Seeing the lone pooch walking down the snow covered road, ahhhhh. The shot of the fence with the fresh snow in front and in back. Wow. Terrific.

I agree with you about our similarities. If I get back east (ever) we'll have to get together since we do seem to be 2 peas in a pod!!

  24. Here we are. Struggling to catch up. Listening to and watching a PBS documentary about The Donner Party while we read and write. And we come across your quiet calming post. We read it at just the right time. When we needed to recognize the calmness and beauty in a winter day. What a lovely post. We especially loved your words and the huddled group of cows under the trees.

    Thank you.
