There was a birdhouse on one of the fencepost that Mom's Dad has helped her build on a rainy Sunday afternoon when she was a little girl - about a gazillion years ago. Anyway, Mom didn't want Dad to take the house down because she had seen two bluebirds coming and going from it.

Dad tried to get Mom to look in the house, but you know she is afraid of birds (and too short too) so she asked him to do it. When he looked in there he saw what he thought was mold and then the mold started to move. And then he saw a little yellow beak. Within minutes, he saw the blue birds coming to check on their babies.

We were so in hopes the babies would leave the nest before Dad had to take the birdhouse off of the fence post and before long they did.

Dad saw that opportunity to take the bird house down before the bluebird couple laid more eggs.

Have a great day!! 7 more post to go until we reveal all of your tongue photos.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteWe had a similar situation here this spring. Mom wanted to take down the old dog kennel but had to wait til the mourning dove chicks left the nest. Which was built in a honeysuckle vine that had grown it the kennel wire.
Have a GREAT holiday weekend!

It was nice of your dad to wait till the bluebirds were done with the house, at least for the moment, before taking it down.
